For many parents and caregivers of special needs kids, hearing the words that your child has outgrown their equipment or requires new equipment can cause severe anxiety. The thought of having to go through teadious equipment trials, outlay thousands of dollars and then waiting months for the equipment to arrive and having to do the fitting and arrange delivery is exhausting and a massive financial burden, especially when your child will most likely require multiple assistive devices such as a seating system, usually a separate one for indoor and outdoor, as well as a walker, stander, sleep system, car seat, AFOs and more.
With rising prices, many brands have continued to increase their costs, which are then passed on to the suppliers and consumers. We’ve seen Singapore increase the GST amount from 7% to 10% and in addition to that, Government funding bodies such as the Assistive Technology Fund through SG Enable (ATF) have not increased the cap for AT equipment despite the cost of equipment going up by as much as 20% over the past few years, as well as the increased GST.
As a result of this, parents are searching for new ways to stretch their budget by either holding on to equipment for an extra 1-2 years, which can have dire repercussions on the child’s posture. Savvy parents, however, are buying second-hand equipment on Carousell in Singapore or other Marketplaces, but this often comes at a risk as the parents have no way of ensuring the integrity of the product, and there’s no recourse if the product is faulty or it’s not suitable for the child.
EnaTech has been engaging with many social workers who on the frontline and working tirelessly to find funds for families who simply cannot afford to spend tens of thousands of dollars on equipment, especially when their child is between the ages of 2-6 when parents are generally coming to terms with their child’s disability and it becomes criticial on posturual management where you have the OT telling you that your child urgently needs a proper seating system and the PT telling you how important it is for your child to be in a stander.
Over the past few months, we have been working closely with leading manufacturers and AT providers around the world to purchase ex-display stock and pre-loved equipment. As a result of this, we have expanded our portfolio and are offering a larger range of products at a fraction of the price of buying brand new. All the products have been fully inspected, tested, serviced, and cleaned, and when required parts are changed and are ready to be dispatched from our overseas warehouses.
For example, a European branded abduction stander (size 1) that would normally retail for $8,000 - $9,000 SGD is available for $3,500-$4,000 SGD. Greater savings can be made when bundling it with other products. We stock most brands!

We encourage you to reach out to our team before you go ahead with your next purchase to see what we have or what we can source for you.
